The renaissance is full of amazing artists, and Michelangelo is recognized as one of the finest. His skills with painting, sculpture and architecture are world renown.

In preparation for this week’s class, please study the above image taken of Michelangelo’s Pieta from St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican (1498-1499). Click here for a larger image.
We will be creating our own sculptures this week! Please bring to class:
- Sculpy III – 2 oz per child, Pewter – 1 per student (if you can’t access this exact product or color, please come to class anyway. Playdough, model magic, or any other sculpting medium can be substituted.)
- Scotch 3M clear glue stick – can be shared
- Writing pencil
- A teaspoon and butter knife (plastic are fine)
