Supporting Kids’ Expression, Teaching Christ’s Heart
Who We Are
SKETCH began out of a desire to unite busy families. Here, everyone from grandparents to toddlers can come together at one time to learn, create, and serve their community. We teach art, but we create relationships.
What We Do
During the course of each class students learn to analyze the work of master artists. The instruction part of the class comes first, during which time we learn about the artist, their time, and their techniques. We then break out our supplies. We have a few hands on activities to fully demonstrate the artistic principle covered in our lesson (balance, texture, etc.), and then everyone is turned loose to simply create.
Each art project is intentionally designed as a community support effort, and copies of the children’s artwork will be used to adorn gifts for the needy, messages to our soldiers, and more.
“As we have opportunity, let us do good to all people” ~ Gal 6:10a
We meet on the 3rd Friday of every month, September through May
6:30 – 8:00 PM
Please be aware that this is not a drop-off group. We encourage parents to learn alongside their children. The best way to encourage artistic experimentation is to model it yourself, so pull up a chair, grab a crayon, and join the fun.
We look forward to creating something special with you!
